How to make money clipping: a step-by-step beginner guide
You make money clipping by joining a brand's funded campaign, cutting its long-form content into short clips, posting them on your own accounts and submitting each link within 30 minutes. The brand's team approves clips that follow the brief, and you are paid per 1,000 views, currently a median of $1.25 across live campaigns. Expect uneven results: some clips earn nothing, and payouts are capped per clip.
Campaign numbers on this page are live: read from 390 public Content Rewards campaigns, last updated 25 Oct 2026, 6:08 am IST.
What clipping actually pays
Most clipping pays a rate per 1,000 views, and the typical rate is modest. Live data from 390 campaigns (25 Oct 2026, 6:08 am IST) puts the median at $1.25 per 1,000 views, with the middle half between $1.00 and $2.00. 86% of campaigns pay $1 or more per 1,000 views.
The math is views divided by 1,000, times the rate, capped at the campaign's maximum per clip. Content Rewards' own example is a $1 rate and 50,000 views, which pays $50. At the live median, the same 50,000 views earns 50 x $1.25. A flat 10% creator fee then comes off, so you receive 90% of what the clip earned.
The table uses a $1.00 rate so the numbers are easy to check. Plug in any rate with the earnings calculator.
| Approved views | Earned at $1.00 per 1,000 | Received after 10% fee |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $10 | $9 |
| 50,000 | $50 | $45 |
| 100,000 | $100 | $90 |
| 500,000 | $500 | $450, if the per-clip maximum allows it |
Step 1: pick a campaign
Start with one funded campaign whose brief you can follow and whose platforms you already post on. On Content Rewards, Discover lets you search and filter by platform, model and category, and each card shows how much budget is left. The rate, minimum and maximum payout are on the campaign page.
The help center suggests beginners start with CPM or per-post campaigns, since retainers go to creators with a track record. It also lists what makes a campaign worth joining: a clear target creator, a defined format, the rate and payout limits stated up front, usable source material and examples of clips that performed well. Skip campaigns with vague deliverables or rules that keep changing in chat.

Step 2: set up your accounts
You need a Whop account, which is how you sign in to Content Rewards, and at least one connected social account. The Creator Terms require you to be at least 18.
Connect each account you will post from under Settings, then Connected accounts. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X connect by signing in on the platform. Facebook uses a code in the caption of a public Reel. Instagram must be switched to a Business account first. An account linked only in Whop's own settings does not count, and a clip can only be submitted from the account that posted it.
Step 3: find moments and edit the clip
Treat the brief as the contract, because the brand can only reject a clip for requirements written there. Read it twice: first for the offer, rate, platforms and budget, then for the details that decide approval, such as the hook, where the brand mention goes, clip length, any posting window and the 'do not' list.
Brands supply the source material, such as podcast episodes, streams or brand assets. Study the example clips for hook, pacing and brand placement, and adjust the opening for each platform, since TikTok, Shorts and Reels reward different starts.
Add real editing. TikTok says unoriginal content, such as reposts with no creative edits or videos carrying someone else's watermark, may be kept off the For You feed. YouTube's reused content policy can remove monetization from a whole channel that reposts material without adding commentary or changes, even with permission.
Two rules apply to every campaign: put a clear sponsorship disclosure at the start of the clip, and do not use Instagram Collab or other co-posting unless the brand allows it.
Step 4: post and submit within 30 minutes
Post the clip publicly from a connected account, then submit the link straight away. Content Rewards checks three things: the post came from your linked account, it has not already been submitted to that campaign, and it is less than 30 minutes old.
Open the campaign, press 'Submit clip', paste the link and tick the requirements box. You can paste several links, one per line. A refused link is not recorded and carries no penalty, so post a fresh upload and submit it right away.
Some campaigns use pre-approval. There you upload the video file first, the team approves it or asks for changes, and you post and submit the live link afterwards. The posted clip is reviewed again.
Step 5: get approved and get paid
Your clip sits under Pending until the brand's team decides. On CPM campaigns, views count once the clip passes the campaign minimum, but no money is set aside until approval.
After approval, a CPM clip keeps earning for 7 days, then the amount is held for 3 days and pays out around day 10. Per-post clips settle about 15 to 30 minutes after approval. Earnings land in your Content Rewards Balance.
From there you withdraw to your Whop Balance (from $1), then to a bank, PayPal or wallet. A standard Whop payout takes up to 5 business days, an instant payout costs a fee, and options vary by country.
Realistic expectations and how to grow
Consistency matters more than one hit, because you cannot tell in advance which clip will travel. Batch your work: gather footage, edit several clips, post, and check your Submissions and Earnings pages before taking on more.
Add a second campaign only once you are hitting the first one's deliverables, have no open flags and most clips are approved. A second campaign lowers the risk of one brand pausing or running out of budget. You can cut the same source footage differently for each campaign, but never submit the same final clip twice or swap one brand's logo for another's.
Never buy views, likes or followers. Content Rewards scores every clip for bot activity, and buying or generating engagement leads to a permanent ban.

Questions
How much do clippers make per 1,000 views?
It depends on the campaign. Across live campaigns the median is $1.25 per 1,000 views, with the middle half between $1.00 and $2.00, before the 10% creator fee.
How many views do you need to make $100 clipping?
At a $1.00 rate, 100,000 approved views earn $100 before fees, and about 111,112 views are needed to receive $100 after the 10% fee. The campaign's per-clip maximum may cap a single clip below that.
Do you need to pay to start clipping?
No. Joining campaigns is free and the platform takes a fee from payouts. Any offer that asks you to pay up front to get paid matches a known scam pattern.
How long does it take to get paid for clipping?
On CPM campaigns, a clip pays around 10 days after approval: 7 days of earning, then a 3-day hold. A standard withdrawal from Whop to a bank then takes up to 5 business days.
Which platforms can you clip for?
Content Rewards connects TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X and Facebook accounts. Each campaign lists which platforms it accepts, so check that before you post.
